Why this practice exists
My name is Lucinda. I studied accounting at Dalhousie University before joining the banking system and beginning my career in finance. Over more than seven years, I worked with clients at every stage — from young families building wealth to those nearing retirement and facing major decisions. It taught me one thing clearly: most people aren't short on options. They're short on advice that is clear, and that takes them seriously.
My years in banking also taught me what good advice actually depends on: time with each client, the full context of their situation, and the freedom to follow a question beyond a single product category. I've always believed good planning rests on advanced analytical tools, a continually updated body of knowledge, and respect for detail — and I built Lucid around those three things.
Lucid is meant to be a place where you can slow down, ask clearly, and think things through.

Years Experience

Lucinda (Yuan) Xue
CFP® · CIWM® · CIM® · PFP®
Life Insurance Licensed (BC) · CFA Level III Candidate
Lucinda has spent over seven years in Canadian wealth management — across full-service brokerage and private wealth, including BMO, Scotiabank Global Asset Management, and Canaccord Genuity — before establishing Lucid as an independent, planning-led practice.
Her work centres on integrated planning designed for situations that span multiple jurisdictions and disciplines. Bilingual in English and Mandarin (native), she serves Chinese-Canadian families with genuine cultural and technical fluency.
Lucinda started Lucid to practise the way she believes planning should be done: judgment-led, integrated, and answerable only to the client's goals.
“I don't accept a conclusion that hasn't been tested — even the most reassuring one.”
A career-long habit. Every “this should be fine” in a plan gets run through scenario testing before it counts.

Considering financial planning?
An independent second opinion before the decisions that matter. We take on 6–10 families a year — the next intake window opens October 2026. Introductory conversations and second opinions are open year-round — and the tools and articles are always here.
