Five steps. Go only as far as you need.
Start with one question, see the work, and continue only when the next step has earned it.
Each engagement stands on its own — worth having even if you stop there. Every fee is confirmed in writing before work begins.
All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

The gap is where the real cost hides.
An insurance advisor looks at the policy. An investment advisor looks at the account. An accountant looks at this year's return. The problem is rarely inside any one piece — it lives at the joints: tax rules in two countries working against each other, a structure that doesn't hold up under a different legal system, a beneficiary designation that creates an unexpected tax bill or liquidity gap at death. Our work is finding these problems — and closing them — before they become real numbers.
Introductory Conversation
A conversation about what you're trying to figure out, and whether the way we work fits it. If planning isn't what you need right now, we'll say so — and point you to where to start.
Independent Second Opinion
Someone brings you an investment, a policy, a set of terms. Before a major financial decision, have it read by someone with no stake in the recommendation.
- A written, independent read: the terms and fee structure, the return assumptions, the risks buried in the structure, the red flags to watch
- A list of the questions worth asking the other side
- No details of your other finances required
Want the deal read against your full situation? That needs your overall structure — usually done within a structural diagnostic. Fully credited if you go on to the full plan.
Structural Diagnostic
We map your current financial structure and hand you a written diagnostic — it tells you where the problems are, how they rank, and which options are worth pursuing further. Full plan design and an implementation path belong to the next step. Yours to keep, whether or not you go on.
- A guided working session: screen share, going through your accounts and documents together — you won't face a pile of paperwork alone
- A complete family balance sheet — for many families, the first full picture they've ever seen
- The parts of your structure most worth attention, and the gaps that may be hiding
- First-pass scenario testing on the questions that worry you most
- The options in front of you, with the trade-offs spelled out
Confirmed in writing before we begin. Fully credited against the full plan if you continue.
The Full Plan
The full plan turns the diagnostic's findings into a complete structure, a decision sequence, formal recommendations, and an implementation path — cash flow, tax, estate, insurance and investment treated as one system, modelled over decades and, where relevant, across two countries.
- Full scenario stress-testing and Monte Carlo simulation of the plan
- Formal planning documents prepared in English and structured for review with your bank, lawyer, and accountant — with walkthroughs and family summaries in Chinese or English, whichever your family thinks in
- Coordination alongside your investment and insurance advisors — analysis and recommendations, never discretionary management
- Implementation support with your accountant and lawyer
- Paid in two parts: half payable at the start, with the balance due on delivery
The total fee starts at $40,000, with any structural diagnostic fee fully credited toward it. Typical timelines depend on complexity and are confirmed with the formal quote. Complex multi-country structures are quoted individually and are typically higher.
Ongoing Annual Support
For the few families whose situation keeps moving: periodic structural reviews, plan updates, and coordination with your other advisors. The review cadence, number of meetings, and coordination scope are confirmed in writing at the start of each year. Most clients don't need this.
We provide financial planning and analysis; we do not provide discretionary investment management. Strategies involving borrowing or insurance carry risk and are considered only after an individual suitability assessment.

A note on insurance implementation
Planning engagement
The planning fee is the only compensation within a planning engagement — no product sold, no commission earned. The plan is completed and paid for on its own merits, independent of everything below.
Insurance implementation
Lucinda is personally licensed for life insurance. If, after the plan is complete, you choose to implement through us, that is a distinct engagement: a coordination fee of $5,000–$8,000 (by complexity) pays for the implementation work itself — underwriting, medicals, the back-and-forth with the insurer — whether or not a policy is ultimately placed.
Compensation disclosure
Once a policy is in force, the insurer separately pays us a commission; the amount and how it is calculated are disclosed in writing before implementation begins. The coordination fee and the commission are calculated separately and do not offset one another.
We take on at most 6 to 10 households a year
We take on 6–10 families a year, so the same advisor stays responsible from discovery through analysis to delivery — with sustained, senior attention throughout.
It also means we recommend paid work only when we're confident planning will actually add value. Many questions are already answered by the articles and the self-assessment on this site — start there.
Intro conversations and second opinions are open year-round; the next intake for structural diagnostics and full plans opens in October 2026.
Leave your email and we'll let you know the moment intake opens.
